In July, we had six residents from our Women’s Program baptized at First Christian Church. This included four women and one teenage young man from House of Hope. It’s amazing how God is working in their lives. Watch their testimonies and below are a few of their stories.
Hawa is originally from Africa and she is a beautiful mother of 2 little girls, 8 and 3 yrs old. She came to House of Hope lost and broken leaving a destructive relationship and left homeless. She was hopeless but within 1 week her face was filled with a smile and hope in her heart. Her growth is radical and her heart has discovered God’s love which led to her being baptized. She is soaring in Him and her path is lit up with God in the lead.
Takia came to us with a challenging past including a tough upbringing that led her to needing help for her and her son, who is 2 yrs. old. Now she has temporary custody of her younger brother who is 15. Through her struggles she is always looking up and wanting to know Jesus to understand how to follow Him. This has led to both her brother and herself getting baptized and allowing God to work in their lives.
Heidi is a mother of two, a 12 yr. old girl and 3 yr. old boy. She is from Prescott, AZ where she always felt alone — like she didn’t belong. When she was accepted at House of Hope, doors just began opening for her. She stated this is the first time she has felt at home and embraced by a family. Her faith has been building, as God has broken down walls within her heart to heal from her insecurities. The trajectory of her life has changed forever and she is striving to become the women God has created her to be. This walk has led to her to get baptized and take a stand for her faith and family!
Amy is a beautiful mother of her son who is almost 2 yrs. old. She has a strong independent personality and always thought she could do things on her own. She came to us needing a place to call home to get on her feet. Now she finds herself ready to surrender her heart to God, and have the best life, with His help, instead of relying solely on herself. This has led to her baptism and today you can see her smiling from the inside out!
