Desiree

Desiree came out of foster care, addiction, and homelessness. God gave her a feeling of safety at House of Refuge Sunnyslope, and she is now sober with a stable job and home.

Old Life

Desiree was a foster child who ended up in addiction, bad relationships, and homelessness. Her life became very tough and she lived out of desperation and fear.

“Through this program, God surrounded me with Christians, creating a safe feeling which allowed me to open up and begin to change my life. He softened my heart which opened up a flood gate for me to succeed.”

“My biggest accomplishment in life is to be a good mother, which I know I am. My daughter is happy and we tell each other we love each other all the time. I learned how to cope with life while I was at House of Hope.”

New Life

"I live a sober life and I have a new career as a commercial driver. I have my own apartment with my daughter, and a new church family."
