David

David (Davey) thought he would never get off meth. Through a relationship with Christ, he's overcome his addiction, become an electrician, and gotten married.

Old Life

Davey’s life before House of Refuge was unmanageable and depressed due to a lifetime of addiction. He was irresponsible and in trouble with the law.

“I never thought I could get off meth. I never thought I would ever get back my drivers license or be able to hold down a job. I especially never thought I would get married!”

“I struggled in the program for quite a while, I had trouble finding and sticking with a job. I was not going to let failure be a part of my life, so I kept putting God first and slowly things began to change for me.”

New Life

What he thought would never happen, become his life. Davey has been clean for 3 years, and he has received his drivers license and purchased a car through our auto program. He works full time and is training to become an electrician. Just after graduating House of Refuge, he married his long term girlfriend, Denise.

“She stuck with me through so many bad years, and I am happy to have her as my wife.”

“God is the way out. I love the Lord, and I love trusting in Him.”
