But Lindsay had a secret...
$10,000 Matching Challenge!
Lindsay was a hugely successful professional person, with a staff of people who reported to her. She was a mom, too, with a beautiful little girl.
But Lindsay was also secretly hooked on drugs. Her addiction gradually took hold of her life — and nearly destroyed it. She lost her job. Lost her daughter. Lost her home — she found herself living on the streets. Ultimately, she landed in prison, sentenced to 13 months.
“I was ready to change my life,” Lindsay remembers. And “I knew Jesus would help me.” But she needed someone to be Jesus to her.
Which is where YOU stepped onto the stage of Lindsay’s life. By God’s grace, Lindsay came to us, as a House of Refuge Sunnyslope resident.
And here’s the part of the story that makes me smile the most: You did it! You, and Lindsay, and God, working together, made it happen.
Today, Lindsay and her daughter are living in another of our properties. They have a beautiful, loving relationship. Mom reads Bible stories to her little one. It’s a whole new life.
Lindsay reaffirms for me the reality of the promises in God’s Word. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength,” Isaiah 40:31 declares. “They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
That’s Lindsay’s story. But you helped make it happen. Your generosity fueled the promise. Today, I hope you’ll help it happen again, for someone else in need, like Lindsay was — knowing that whatever you give, you’ll make a powerful impact in someone’s life.
Would you please prayerfully consider making a commitment to monthly support? Our goal is to add 50 new Hope & Home monthly partners so we can achieve our mission to love, house, and equip single men and women transitioning out of homelessness.
You might be able to join us with a pledge of $27 a month, or $54 ... perhaps $108, or $216 ... or any other amount. And here’s some great news, your first monthly gift will be doubled.
Of course, if you can’t commit to monthly support, I hope you’ll give an immediate gift anyway. Whatever you feel led to do, may I please hear from you quickly? Your giving will be doubled in impact for the sake of people like Lindsay, people at the pivot point of life, people who can either experience restoration — or slip back into the clutches of addiction, homelessness, chaos — and tragedy.
