Volunteering at House of Refuge Sunnyslope blesses not only the ministry and residents and it’s a way to serve God, but it also blesses the volunteers.
Here is Kelly’s powerful testimony on how volunteering at (HRS) brought her closer to God.
It may not make sense to most people. How can volunteering at a Christian ministry help you through the possible diagnosis of breast cancer? It’s giving it to God and serving Him. We at HRS continually pray for our residents and our volunteers no matter what their going through.
“For the very first time, I felt how God uses people to encourage other people — to give them that hope.”
“For the first time, I decided to give all my worries and give everything to God. I didn’t know what that meant.”
“I felt a sense of peace and a serenity that I’ve never felt before.”
“I found that volunteering at House of Hope and HRS has keep me on my path with God.”
Kelly is grateful that it was only a lump that turned out to be benign.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
