House of Refuge Moving On Fund Helps Residents Start New Lives

Imagine a guy with $4000 in college loans. He enters the House of Refuge Sunnyslope program to get his life on the right track, however, once he pays off his debt, he doesn’t have any money saved to “move on” after he graduates from the program.

That’s how the Moving On Fund got started. In this video, former executive director Paul Williams explains how God told him to “raise the fees by $25”.  Currently, 20% of every dollar a resident pays in program fees is put into a savings fund to give to them when they successfully leave the program.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
1 Timothy 6:17
