“I had a career, people that loved me. I had all those things but I never really had happiness.”
David came to House of Refuge Sunnyslope (HRS) from prison in November 2012. He had it all then,
“I gave it all away to drinking and drugging… making poor choices.”
Those poor choices landed David in prison. However, there he encountered some Godly men.
Here’s David’s story of finding happiness in Jesus Christ.
“Jesus is my Lord and Savior…. Jesus to me is Love, Hope and Promise.”
He quotes from Hebrews 13:5:
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
HRS is not just in the business of transitional housing, but of helping God transform lives. David encountered God in the “Godly men” he met in prison. Then he found Godly men at HRS who…
“Gave me hope to succeed.”
David now works at Wave Electronics where he’s been for 3 years.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters…”
David graduated from the program in October of 2014. He still lives in the neighborhood and attends Bible studies. He also serves as a mentor at HRS and at Scottsdale Bible Cactus.
“and all glory to God for the opportunity to work in this field.”
