Our Programs

House of Refuge Sunnyslope has been breaking the cycle of homelessness since 1988. Providing more than transitional housing, we equip individuals to lead independent lives that enable them to break free from homelessness.

Alumni-Housing-V3

Alumni
Housing

As the housing crisis grows, we have designated a property for 5 Alumni.

Individuals who have successfully completed our program can apply to move into alumni housing for six months.  They have their own apartment, continue to stay plugged into our community, stay drug and alcohol free, and set goals to further grow in their personal Vision for Victory.

Entering House of Refuge Sunnyslope

New residents must be employed or actively seeking employment, and must not be a current user of alcohol or drugs.

Coming from unemployment, prison, recovery, or an endless cycle of homelessness, our residents experience a clean and safe home where transforming their lives can begin. Full-time work is paired with a personalized Vision for Victory program designed to achieve the ultimate goal of becoming self-sufficient.

Vision for Victory

Vision for Victory is a program where residents experience a resilient, Christ-focused, and thriving life through concentration in four key areas:

  • Being Open to God
  • Being Teachable
  • Seeking Healthy Relationships
  • Desiring Financial Stability

HRS Food Bank

Our foodbank kitchen gathers over 229 tons of food each year from partners and donors. This programs allows us to feed over 350 residents each year, providing stability and supply.

Additionally, we share with other organizations to ensure that no donated food goes to waste, and that those who have need are fed.
